The Slovenian shot-stopper joined his current club Atletico Madrid in 2014 and has been a regular starter since then. He helped Los Rojiblancos to a second-place finish in LaLiga and Europa League win last season. In 2016, they lost out in the finals of the Champions League.

The 26-year-old rejected a chance to sign for Chelsea in the summer last season as a replacement for Thibaut Courtois, who was bound to join Atletico’s cross city rivals Real Madrid. His current contract expires in 2021, but the team from the capital are looking to tie him down to a fresh deal.
