Atari Launches a Crypto Casino

If we are to believe a Decentral.games blog post, then the gaming giant Atari is partnering with Decentral to bring the world a brand new shiny… virtual casino.

Not quite the Atari Jaguar 2 announcement nobody was expecting, but even so, this is certainly a surprise revelation. However, the fact that it is crypto seems to fit in with the ethos that Atari has adopted with the VCS; liberation.

So, there we have it, Atari heads down a different gaming route with its next venture.

What Is Atari’s Crypto Casino?

As you might have gathered, a crypto casino is just like any other casino, except in this case it is virtual and accepts cryptocurrency.

Atari is building its Decentraland casino around the Decentral Games cryptocurrency, the DAO. You can use MANA, DAI, and the new Atari Token (ATRI) to play a range of Atari themed games. Some of these are luck-based, some a mixture of luck and skill, and there is a skill-based game too, reportedly.

Decentral Games explains the concept:

So, you’ll be able to get plenty of exclusive virtual content as NFTs, plus you can then trade any $DG you have for real-world money.

When Does the Casino Launch?

You actually don’t have long to wait at all. The Decentral blog post says:

So you can expect news on the launch soon. It doesn’t look like the launch is going to be a stuffy, quiet affair, either:

Keep your eyes peeled on Atari and Decentral games if you want to get involved in the above. Especially seeing as they’ll be giving away cryptocurrency on the night.

All you need to do now is remember the password for your cryptocurrency wallet and away you go.

If you want to attend the Atari Casino but you’re new to cryptocurrency, then make sure you read up about the subject first.

Trading any currency isn’t without its risks, and once you add casino gambling into the equation, you can obviously stand to lose money and (possibly) gain it. There are no guarantees you won’t lose it all, so only invest what you can afford to lose.
